Long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
hahahahah buing! joke lang. Long, long time ago I was very much active in sex, madly in love etc etc and such (high school
palang but now medyo lang hahahah). Unfrtunatly, ma girl and I got separated, because I moved to Surigao City. Anyway, for
a while we wrote to each other and even today her letters are one of my most precious possessions. They're really beautiful
in their own way and full of passion and I want to share a few paragraphs from them with you.
My story had never been told to me in a systematic fashion,
but from an early age I gathered it went something like this: I was an Igurot, solidly low-class; the important remnants of
my grandparents' foreignness -- language, gait, custom -- had been purged, and the rest could be gotten out of. I was INC
(Iglesia Ni Cristo), but not in the way that INC people had been. I wasn't hated, chased, taunted, had never been and would
never be. I wasn't fastidious about food, cleanness, kitchens, books. I moved easily through the Philippines with tremendous
freedom, without fear, without an ID announcing I was INC or an Igurot, and returned to Cebu that wasn't in a ghetto, that
didn't smell from cooking but Weed. I'm a flirt, groupie, a mess and I love it, I love being me and everything in me. Freedom
is my passion, so people out there, LIVE FREE and be happy!
